Syrah

From the Carpenter Hill Vineyard, located in the Rogue Valley, just west of the town of Talent. The 20-year-old vines are planted on an east-facing aspect, in shallow alluvial soils. The grape skins are often quite thick there, given the extremely low yields because of the lack of water in southern Oregon.

The grapes were 100% destemmed, and the wine was fermented with native yeast in small fermenters. It was aged for ten months in used barrels and bottled without filtration. All of this allows for current enjoyment or cellaring for 5–8 years.

The aromatics on this wine are gorgeous, a mixture of blue and black fruit, flowers, and earth. The wine is super silky, with soft tannins, beautiful acidity, and great balance. This should be a staple for all your summer BBQs.
