Château Saint-Paul is a Cru Bourgeois estate in the Haut-Médoc, certified organic, situated in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate has been in the d'Hallouin family for generations and was integrated into Château Charmail in 2021 — one of the last vintages under the Saint-Paul label, making this a farewell edition of sorts. The 2021 is a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, farmed organically on the gravelly clay soils of the northern Médoc. Fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and older oak. Minimal intervention, Cru Bourgeois quality at a fraction of the price of the classified estates. Drink now through 2028.
