About This Wine
The
full story.Gvantsa Abuladze and her siblings Baia and Giorgi make wine in the village of Obcha in western Georgia's Imereti region, one of the cradles of winemaking civilization. The Baia's Wine family has produced wine for more than three generations and is a member of the Natural Wine Association. Aladasturi is a rare indigenous Imereti red variety — notoriously difficult to grow and vinify — with naturally high acidity, fine tannins, and a distinctive bright, juicy red-fruit character. Gvantsa's Aladasturi Red is made from estate organic fruit, fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, and bottled with minimal sulfur. The result proves that Georgian red wine doesn't have to be heavy: bright, elegant, and totally singular.
