Gruner Veltliner

This is a lovely unfiltered and unfined wine from winemaker Christina Netzl. Her vineyard is located just east of Vienna. Christina's life has been always connected to vines and winemaking. Both her parents and her grandparents were winemakers and she studied oenology in London before returning to Austria. Now she runs the vineyards and has adopted organic viticulture methods. This wine is a perfect example. It's hazy, with a pronounced yellow apple flavor, a pleasant yeasty finish, and a light effervescence. Grüner Veltliner is considered a simple, fresh white wine and that is true here. But Christina has created a wine that has layers of flavors and concentration.
