About This Wine
The
full story.FUSO is the natural wine project of importer PortoVino, built around a simple idea: find Italy's best organic farmers and bottle their wines as honest, characterful everyday drinkers. For Tèh, they partner with the Russo brothers at Crotin — a family cantina and agriturismo run by matriarch Daniela Russo (a veterinarian specializing in homeopathic and natural medicine) and her sons Federico, Marcello, and Corrado in Maretto municipality, far west of the Monferrato Astigiano. Their 9 hectares of certified organic vineyards grow on white marine limestone and sandy soils at 270m elevation, with vines averaging 10–25 years old. Tèh is a co-fermented field blend of 60% Barbera with varying amounts of Freisa, Grignolino, and Bonarda, harvested September 10 with native yeasts. 7–9 days maceration on skins depending on variety, aged in stainless steel. Unfined, unfiltered. 12.5% ABV. Direction from celebrated Langhe enologist Cristiano Garella.
