From Caleb Leisure: From a beautiful organic vineyard in the back of beyond, a bonkers location high in the foothills and 30 minutes along a dirt fire trail. The vineyard had been meticulously farmed for 20 years when the owner had a health scare and stopped making wine in 2020. Without the energy or financial need to sell the fruit, the grapes were either rotting on the vine or being fed to the farm animals. The crew that helped me harvest my own vineyard told me the saga and I hurried myself to these (nearly literally) wild vines. I cherry-picked the best blocks and the blends from the vineyard have always been made in the field and not the cellar. In 2021, this became my first (accidental) GSM. TASTING NOTES: Red fruit, spice, leather, candy PRODUCTION NOTES: Whole cluster ferment in qvevri and macro bin, pressed after 7-10 days in to qvevri and nuetral oak for elevage.
