About This Wine
The
full story. The Damoli family has tended their land in Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, since 1623. After a multi-decade pause from winemaking, Bruno Damoli's son Daniele — who trained at Masi — revived the family estate with a philosophy of no manipulation and no additives. All farming is organic; only old oak barrique and tonneau are used for aging, because they respect the wine's aromas without altering them. 'Volavìca' is a blend of 45% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, and 15% Rondinella, hand-harvested from hillside vineyards at 200–500m in Negrar. Native yeast fermentation in stainless steel with 8–12 days maceration, aged less than one year in stainless before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered. Around 1,250 cases produced. The locals in Verona are drinking this.
