Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Vorderrad Seiber

Weingut Jäger is one of the Wachau’s most respected family estates, farming steep terraced vineyards of primary rock and loess above the Danube for four generations. Their wines are made with minimal intervention under the principles of the Vinea Wachau — no chaptalization, no enrichment — and this Federspiel comes from the Vorderrad and Seiber vineyard sites above Weissenkirchen. Grüner Veltliner from these loam-over-gneiss soils is classically structured: green apple, citrus zest, and the signature white pepper snap of the variety on the nose, with a palate that is taut, mineral, and refreshingly dry. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on fine lees, it’s clean and precise without being austere. Drink it young with Wiener Schnitzel, or open it alongside grilled fish and let it do what Austrian Grüner does best.
