Foundry Vineyards’ NV Chardonnay is the cleanest expression of the variety in Ashley Trout’s range — unoaked, unadorned, and totally transparent about where it comes from. Columbia Valley fruit is whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral vessel with native yeasts, producing a wine that’s bright, citrus-forward, and refreshingly uncomplicated. Green apple, lemon zest, and a stony mineral quality make it a natural match for oysters and white fish, while its no-frills approach means it’s equally good as a weeknight pour. This is the kind of Chardonnay that wins over skeptics.
