About This Wine

The

full story.

Semillas Farm Winery is a small-scale, thoughtfully farmed project in Sheridan, Oregon, led by winemaker Sterling Whitted. The name 'Semillas' — Spanish for 'seeds' — reflects the philosophy of planting ideas, tending them carefully, and letting them grow. The Chardonnay Skin Maceration is sourced from Dion Vineyard in Cornelius, a family-owned, third-generation estate established in 1973 in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, where vines dating to 1976 grow on Laurelwood silty loam soils at 300–500 feet elevation. Sterling ferments the Chardonnay on skins for an extended period — transforming this classic Willamette white into an amber wine with real textural complexity. Aged in neutral vessel. Minimal SO2. A skin-contact Chardonnay that asks you to rethink everything you thought you knew about the grape.
