About This Wine
The
full story.GianLuca Colombo founded Segni di Langa near Roddi in 2011, in the northeast corner of the Barolo appellation. Named Italy's best young winemaker (Giulio Gambelli Prize, 2014), Colombo approaches Nebbiolo from a biodynamic perspective — fermentation 10°C cooler than regional tradition to preserve aromatic compounds over tannin extraction, and aging in medium-sized neutral oak to maintain fruit transparency. He literally marks each bottle with his own fingerprint as a symbol of personal accountability. The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo is 100% Nebbiolo sourced from around Roddi. Hand-harvested in late September/early October. Spontaneous fermentation using the pied de cuve method for 39 days. Eight months in 500-liter neutral oak barrels. Unfined, unfiltered. 2,000 bottles produced.
