About This Wine
The
full story.Art + Science is the project of Dan Rinke and Kim Hamblin, who farm their Roshambo ArtFarm — a 50-acre biodynamic property in the Van Duzer Corridor — with a commitment to biodiversity, indigenous varieties, and a total absence of chemicals. Dan studied viticulture at Cal State Fresno with a biodynamic focus; Kim is an artist who forages, farms, and ferments. Together they've pioneered some of Oregon's first Mondeuse, sourcing from biodynamically certified Johan Vineyard, which sits directly on the Van Duzer Corridor on the geologically diverse soils shaped by the Missoula Floods — granite, basalt erratics, marine sediment, and silty volcanic loam. The Mondeuse grapes are whole-cluster fermented for 3 weeks with native yeast, punched down by foot, then aged 18 months in neutral oak. Unfined, unfiltered. Just 24 cases made. 20ppm SO2 added at bottling.
