About This Wine
The
full story. This 1.5L magnum of A. Bergère’s Extra Brut Les Clos is grower Champagne at its most celebratory. Bergère farms a single walled vineyard — the ‘Les Clos’ — in the Marne Valley, coaxing a Champagne of remarkable site expression from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier vines that average over forty years of age. The wine is aged for a minimum of three years on its lees before disgorgement, building layers of brioche, roasted hazelnut, lemon curd, and white flower, all underscored by the chalk-and-limestone minerality of the terroir. Extra Brut dosage keeps it precise and dry. In magnum, it’s even more complex and age-worthy — a bottle worth opening for something that deserves to be marked.
