This biodynamic farm of 55ha in Anjou, Domaine Les Grandes Vignes, makes straightforward but delicious iterations of many of the great Loire varieties to be found in Bellevigne-sur-Layon, where the domaine is located. This Pineau d’Aunis is a great representation of a rare Loire red variety: lighter-bodied, with woodsy red fruits and a notable pencil-lead minerality on both nose and palate (it’s an unmistakeable signature of this grape). Great pairing for bitter greens and grilled veggies.
