From Libertine: At Libertine Wines our love of unorthodox blends is as strong as our love for literary portmanteaus. In 2022, we received a little more Chardonnay and Dolcetto from Old Wagon Road Vineyard than we expected so we did what any legitimate winery would: toss them whole cluster into a fermenter for over a month and see what happens. The end result far exceeded any of our wildest expectations. We can’t say we’ve ever made or tasted anything like it. Dried strawberry and cocoa powder burst from the glass to create an intoxicatingly unique aroma. Fresh pomegranate, blueberry concentrate, and dried apricot dominate the palate with a dash of allspice for good measure. A supple and elegant tannic structure leaves the boozer with a lengthy Black Forest finish. It is said to be difficult to pair wine with salad. This, my friends, is the ultimate salad wine for your salad days.
