This wine comes from clay and limestone soils on the steep slopes near Husseren-les-Chateaux, including parts of the Eichberg Grand Cru, at an elevation of up to 400m—one of Alsace’s highest vineyard sites. The grapes were gently macerated for 3 days before being pressed into old barriques for 9 months. The result is a wonderfully textural and saline wine with a great sense of freshness.
